HARRELLS — Mrs. Eloise Dorise Peterson Carter, 76, left this earthly life for her eternal rest Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012 from Rex Healthcare Center in Raleigh. She was born July 18, 1936 in Sampson County, daughter of the late Walter Allen “Ally” Peterson and Eunice Ezzell Peterson Lee.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with Pastor Richard Wade and Pastor Ross Cavenaugh officiating. Entombment will follow in Rockfish Memorial Mausoleum.
Surviving to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 57 years, John F. Carter; daughter, Pamela “Pam” C. Hurt of Harrells; son, Ronnie F. Carter (Anita), also of Harrells; grandchildren, Jeffrey Hurt, Lucas Carter and Alma Carter; two great-grandchildren; sister, Kathleen Pridgen (Billy) of Harrells; special friend, Linda Bunn of Wendell; and numerous family and friends.
Eloise was a devoted wife and caring mother and grandmother. She enjoyed the simplest things in life but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren whom she adored. Eloise’s favorite past time was being outside planting flowers and growing delicious vegetables in the garden. With a big heart and gentle spirit, she loved everyone and was loved in return. Eloise will surely be missed, but she will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Casketbearers will be Glenn Page, Kelly Porter, Keith Carter, Keith Pridgen, Charles Sutton, Brian Bunn and Jim Boney.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, one hour prior the funeral service at the funeral home.
