Lakewood’s girls started their season with a sound thumping of the North Duplin Rebels, taking the win 66-13.
Coach Loftin Kerr said he saw both good and bad things on the court, but nothing he didn’t think he could help his girls work on as the season progressed.
“I was really well pleased with the win,” Kerr said. “I liked a lot of what I saw out there, but there were some things we need to improve on, too. But, for our first outing, I thought the girls did a great job.”
Leading the way for the Lady Leopards in Tuesday’s game were Brittany Boykin, 16 points; Tiesha Rich, 16; Kiara Rich, 10; Tasha Rich, 8; Jakyra Braxton, 6; Brianca Moore, 4; Jache Servance, 3; and Rashyda Parker, 3.
The Leopards take on Southern Wayne Thursday.
