Pride blocks blessings

Matthew 18:18 Jesus says “Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatsoever you shall loose on earth shall be loose in heaven.”

Heaven wants to pour you and I out a blessing, but there are things in which we get entangled that holds those miracles, and breakthroughs, back from entering into our lives. Don’t blame Jesus because it’s not his fault that you have not received the answer to your prayers. There must be a releasing of something here on earth so that heaven can release something to you and I.

Could it be pride that’s standing between you and your miracle? Everyone has it but some Christians channel theirs in a way that’s not pleasing to God. In Proverb 6:16-17, it says, “These six things does the Lord hate; yea seven are an abomination unto him, a proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, a false witness that speaks lies and he who sows discord among brethren.” To see God’s name and the word “hate” in the same sentence is a rare thing to see in the Bible. This means that God has no place for people who are full of pride.

Maybe lately you have been stuck on your own way of doing things just because you have a few degrees and a nice bank account and everyone knows who you are and you feel as if you got this thing called life under control. Maybe you feel like you have no need of no help from anybody. God has tried to speak to you through people and circumstances but you refuse to listen because you feel like it would make you less of a man or woman to receive wisdom and directions from people or to admit that you are in the wrong and you made a mistake.

There are many people who are like this in some way, and God is wanting to do an awesome work in their lives, but oftentimes they are afraid to let go of this image that they have in their communities and among their friends. Are you one these people who has to keep up their image, so that people will think you are so perfect and righteous?

There is coming a time while on this journey with Jesus that he is going to require you and I to let go of this “prideful image” that we have held onto for so long. How bad do you want this blessing from God? Pride could be blocking your miracles, your healing, your breakthroughs from heaven; God is in charge. He has been and will always be, so take your ways of doing things and lay them aside and ask Jesus to show if there is any “pride” within you.
