East Bladen proved too strong Tuesday night for home-team Union, defeating the Spartans 68-47.
Coach Tim Pope said his team was having difficult scoring the ball so far this season. “Tonight we missed 30 shots within 5 feet of the basket. Our effort is there, we just can’t make any shots.”
Union hung in the game early, only down 12-9 after one period and by 8 at the half.
But East Bladen’s offense was cranking out the points and the Spartans were not, and the visitors walked away with the win.
Pope said it was back to practice now to get ready for Friday’s rematch with the 2A Clinton Dark Horses.
