At the conclusion of the Harrells Christian Academy lower school Christmas program, “The First Leon,” held Sunday, Dec. 9, there were not many dry eyes to be found.

The students, led by music teacher Margo Bowker, did an amazing job conveying the true meaning of Christmas through music and a sweet story. Fifth-graders held the speaking parts and all of the other lower school students performed beautiful songs between each scene.

“Leon,” performed by Jackson Hall, showed everyone what it really means to give and love Jesus. Even though Leon was not a talented singer or actor, he wanted desperately to have a part in his school’s Christmas pageant. He loves the Christmas season so much and is filled with the spirit, so he wanted to share it. After much convincing, the director finally agreed to give him a very small part. In the end his very small part, turns out to be the best and biggest, touching all the hearts of his cast members.

If anyone who attended this program didn’t have the Christmas spirit before they came to the lower school program, they surely had it by the time they left, staff noted.
