SALEMBURG — Mr. Earl Lyndall Honeycutt, 80, of 402 E. College St., died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at Salemburg Baptist Church with the Rev. John Adams and the Rev. Roger White officiating. Burial will follow at the Honeycutt Cemetery in Clinton.

Mr. Honeycutt was born on Nov. 22, 1932 in Sampson County to the late Earl and Vonnie Chestnut Honeycutt. He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Tamara Honeycutt; and one brother, Cecil Honeycutt. He was a veteran of the Army, a former commissioner with the Town of Salemburg and was a farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Celesta McLamb Honeycutt of the home; two sons, Clark Honeycutt and wife, Jennifer of Salemburg and Kim Honeycutt of Clinton; one sister, Betty Jo Faircloth of Clinton; three grandsons, Chandler Honeycutt, Chase Honeycutt and Chad Honeycutt; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro and other times at the home.

Flowers are welcome, or memorials may be made to “The Hall of History Museum” at the Salemburg Town Hall, P.O. Box 190, Salemburg, N.C. 28385.
