Church will celebrate Boykin’s 13th anniversary this weekend

On Saturday, Jan. 26 at 6 p.m., the 13th pre-anniversary service will be held at First Baptist Church, Bowden, for their pastor, the Rev. Harold Jr. Boykin of Clinton, featuring Lamanuel Boykin and Co. of Rigelwood, Michael Boykin and the Mighty Voices of Clinton, solos and other groups. On Saturday, Jan. 27, the 13th anniversary celebration will climax. The guests will be pastor Ray Bolton, choir and congregation of the Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton. Lunch will be served following the morning service. At 3 p.m., the guests will be the Rev. Victor Wilson choir and congregation of Lisbon Street. Everyone is invited to attend all these services.

The Rev. Floyd Ray of the Mount Zion Baptist Church of Dunn, along with his choir and congregation, will render the service at the Running Branch Disciples Church of Clinton on Friday night, Jan. 25, at 7:30 p.m. The host pastor, pastor Calvin Deans, invites the public.

Mingle Hill Disciples of Christ Church, Salemburg, presents a interdenominational prayer breakfast bringing all races together on Jan. 26. Breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. for a $5 donation. The service will begin at 10 a.m. and the guest preacher will be elder Tonya Oliver of the Saint Jude Church of Christ in Warsaw. The Western Assembly Disciples of Christ Churches Bible Institute will hold the 2013 courses January through October at 8 a.m. There is a $20 registration fee. Please let Dr. Janie Robinson know as soon as possible if you plan to attend at the Western Assembly Headquarters Building, 9766 U.S. Hwy. 701 North, Newton Grove. Elder Donald Graham of Sampson Chapel Disciples Church of Clinton will render service at the Running Branch Disciples Church, Clinton, Friday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m., sponsored by the Pastor’s Aide of Running Branch Church. Everyone is cordially invited.

The 35th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. memorial service will be held Sunday, Feb. 17 at 6 p.m. at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 4442 Bonnettsville Road, Clinton. Choir rehearsal dates will be Monday, Jan. 27 and Tuesday Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. at Mount Pleasant. All churches in Sampson and surrounding counties are asked to participate. This program is sponsored by the Sampson County Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance. The Rev. Marvin T. Clowney Sr. is the president and the Rev. Harold Boykin is the vice president. Regular morning worship service will be held at the Saint Paul Church of Christ, Clinton Sunday, Jan. 27 at 11 a.m. The pastor, elder Onyx Martin, will deliver the morning message and the young adult choir will render the music. Don’t miss it.

Cedar Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton will not have their regular service on Sunday due to another service. We will resume our services on the second Sunday in February. For more information, call 592-3411.

A musical program will be held at the Saint Jude United Holiness Church, Clinton on Feb. 16 at 6 p.m., featuring pastor Dexter Stevens and Preparation of Goldsboro, the George Sisters of Faison, Men on a Mission, Brothers for Christ, the McNeil Family, Billy Ray and the Gospelaires, all of Clinton, and many others. You are cordially invited to join the Union Grove Church of Christ, Clinton in the spirit of Christian fellowship and love on Sunday, Feb. 3 at 3 p.m. This is the day we will gather to celebrate our love for Jesus Christ. Pastor Alice Jean Boykin of the Cedar Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton will deliver the special message of love. With February representing the month of love, the church family would be honored for the public to be their Valentine for Jesus. The dress for the event is red or white in honor of this celebration. The church has a faith goal of over 100 women who will make the choice to participate in this year’s service and be special guests. The church family is encouraging men to show their unconditional support for these lovely ladies by coming out and participating in this special celebration of love for Jesus. Baldwin Branch male chorus will provide the music. The missionary department of Union Grove Church of Christ is hosting this program and providing refreshments.
