Edward D. McKoy, 82
GARLAND — Mr. Edward Dallice McKoy, 82, of 167 E. 4th St., was called from this life and granted everlasting life, peace and serenity on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013. Edward was born Aug. 30, 1930 to the late Alex and Josephine Boone Mckoy.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Garland First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Louis W. Hackett officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Garland Community Cemetery.
Edward attended school in Garland, and became a faithful member of Garland First Baptist Church. He was employed with the Garland Senior Citizen Center as the assistant manager/program director and several other administrative duties until his health declined.
Edward leaves to cherish his loving memories, special recognition, his niece, Andria (Angie) Underwood of the home; two granddaughters, Tomeka U. Bio (Ivan) and Jessica Underwood; two great-granddaughters, Ja’Miyrah Underwood and C’aira Jones; a special loving friend, Daisy Burns of Garland; three daughters, Gale Wilkins (Carl) of Raleigh, Yvonne Walker (Richard) of Roseboro and Dallice Joyner (Tim) of Alexandria, Va.; three sisters, Sadie Johnson, Ivery Gibbs and Portia McKoy of Garland; two brothers, Harry McKoy of Garland and Glenn McKoy of Roseboro; 13 other grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 1-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, with the family being present from 6-7 p.m. at Summerville-Boykin Mortuary in Garland.
