The Harrells Christian Academy JV girls pummeled Cape Fear Academy Friday afternoon, defeating the visitors 40-18.
Although the game got off to a slow start for both teams, the young Crusader girls game out of the first quarter up 6-3, and increased their lead by 5, to 11-5, at the end of the first half.
Harrells extended its lead in the third quarter, adding 11 points to their score and going up 33-12.
Rylie Evans led scoring for the JV Lady Crusaders with 7 points, followed by Branson Best with 6 points. Also scoring for the Harrells team were Jessi-Kate Batts, 6; Mikaela Stround, 6; Marissa Parks 5; Abigail Blanchard, 4; Ashley Usher, 2; Mary Grace Norris, 2; and Megan Crisafulli, 2.
