Brown’s Chapel hosting Black History program Sunday

The annual Black History Program will be held at the Brown’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, H.B. Lewis Road, Clinton, Sunday, Feb. 10. Several special activities will be held as part of this program. It will include singing, a fashion show, performance by the step team, mime, old and new recitations and several other important activities. Don’t miss this wonderful celebration.

The Youth Department will render a program on Sunday, Feb. 10 at Lisbon Street Missionary Baptist Church. The program begins at 3 p.m. The theme is Youth With a Vision and the program will feature the Lisbon Street Missionary Baptist Church junior choir, the praise dancers and a special guest. Everyone is cordially invited.

Revival will begin at the Jackson Grove Bible Church of God in Midway on Thursday, Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. The speaker will be the Rev. Freddy Herring of Chapel Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Autryville. On Friday night, the Rev. Glenn Williams of Godwin and Saint Jude choir of Clinton will be guests. On Sunday, at 3 p.m., there will be an appreciation service for elder Patrick D. Stewart, district elder Thomas Washington and Cutt Chapel Choir and congregation. Eldress Louise Royal, the host pastor, invites the public.

New Life Outreach Ministry, 708 Sampson St., Clinton, will have service on Friday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. Minister Jerry Murphy will be the speaker. On Sunday, Feb. 10, the regular morning worship service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Regina Lucious will deliver the morning message and the mass choir will render the music. Everyone is cordially invited.

A birthday celebration and Valentine dinner for Johnnie Lee Faison will be held Saturday, Feb. 9. The dinner will be held in Saint Stephens Holiness Church fellowship hall, 1373 Wilmington Road, Turkey, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. An afternoon of fun and fellowship is planned for all. Bishop Larry Mosson, choir and congregation will be rendering service at the Church of Refuge in Selma p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10 at 11 a.m. The host pastor is Bishop Eddie Adkinson. For transportation, call 590-7641.

Regular morning worship service will be held at the Andrew Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Sunday, Feb. 10 at 10 a.m. The pastor, the Rev. Gerald Underwood will bring the morning message and the senior choir will render the music. On Sunday, at 3 p.m., the pastor, Gerald Underwood, choir and congregation will render service at the Faison Chapel Church in Warsaw. The host pastor is the Rev. Kenneth Morrisey.

A musical program will be held at the Saint Jude Holiness Church, H.B. Lewis Road, Clinton, Saturday, Feb. 16, at 6 p.m., featuring pastor Dexter Stevens and Preparations of Goldsboro, the George Sisters of Faison, Men on a Mission, Brothers for Christ, the McNeil Family, Billy Ray and the Gospelaires, all of Clinton, and many others. Christ Missionary Baptist Church, 5220 Faison Hwy., Clinton, will have morning worship service Sunday, Feb. 10 at 10 a.m. Sunday school will be at 9 a.m. and Bible study will be held each Wednesday night at 7 p.m. The Rev. Marvin T. Clowney Sr. is the pastor.

Regular morning worship service will be held at the Cedar Creek Missionary Baptist Church Sunday, Feb. 10 at 11 a.m. The pastor, the Rev. Alice Jean Boykin will bring forth the morning message and the adult choir will render the music.

The 35th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Service will be held Sunday, Feb. 17 at 6 p.m. at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 4442 Bonnettsville Road, Clinton. The choir rehearsal date will be Monday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Church. All churches in Sampson and surrounding counties are asked to participate. This program is sponsored by the Sampson County Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance. The Rev. Marvin T. Clowney Sr. is the president and the Rev. Harold Boykin is the vice president. An appreciation service honoring our friend and brother in Christ, minister Carl Faison, will be held Thursday, Feb. 21 at 7:30 p.m. It will be a Breaking the Bread of Life service. The guest speaker is apostle Lester E. Coward of the Deliverance Temple Revival Center Church in Dudley; on Friday, Feb. 22, Saturday, Feb. 23 and Sunday, Feb. 24 it will be held at the House of Prayer, Juniper Road, Faison. Also, Dr. Elevena Oliver of Saint Judge Church of Christ will speak. Don’t miss it.

On Sunday, Feb. 10, there will be a pastor aide program at Saint Jude Church, Clinton, beginning at 4 p.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Lori Jean Sutton of Bearskin and the Voices of Praise will render the music. You are invited. The host pastor is the Rev. Willie Bryant.

Revival is already in progress at the Snow Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Roseboro. Tonight, Feb. 6, the guest speaker will be the Rev. Claudie Morrisey, choir and congregation of the Littlefield Missionary Baptist Church, Newton Grove. On Friday night, guests will be the Rev. Floyd Ray and Mount Zion and the guest choir will be the Rev. Floyd and Mount Zion and the guest choir will be Elizabeth.

On Friday, Feb. 8, elder Donald Graham will render service at the Running Branch Disciple Church of Clinton, beginning at 7:30 p.m. each night. He will be accompanied by his choir and congregation. Elder Calvin Deans invites the public.

Happy Birthday to Charles Strickland of Clinton who will celebrate his birthday on Feb. 10 and will celebrate his anniversary on Feb. 20, and to all the others out there who will have a birthday this month.

We solicit your prayers for all the sick everywhere.

Our love and deepest sympathy goes out to all the families who lost a loved one recently.
