Clinton’s Dark Horses were handed a disappointing loss Tuesday night in a home game against Northside. Final score was 68-67.

“This game was a tale of two halves,” said Clinton coach Randy Jordan after the game. “We ran out of gas in the second half. I have to give credit to Northside for coming out and having the confidence to win in our house. But also, credit to Clinton, my team, for adjusting to each play.

The Monarchs defense did not allow Clinton to get to the net as much as the Horses like, and the visitors got off to a good start, leading 25-12 after one period.

Northside played determined, confident ball throughout, taking it to the Horses on both ends of the court. By halftime, Clinton was trailing 47-27.

But Clinton wasn’t packing it in, either.

At the start of the third period, the Horses rallied, cutting the lead to 10 by the frame’s end, 58-48. They continued with that same momentum in the last quarter, but the first half deficit was just too much for the Clinton boys to overcome.

Leading scorers for Clinton were Shian Bradshaw with 18 points, Demontio Bryant, 12 points, and Greg Smith,9 points.

Clinton is at home again Friday for Senior Night.
