Lakewood’s girls have started the soccer season off right with solid play and a sound win against Wallace-Rose Hill on Thursday.

The Lady Leopards won 2-0 in their season opener at the Dog pen.

“We had excellent defensive play by Ashley Smith and Monica Pittman,” a happy Lakewood’s head coach Jennifer Wuester expressed.

The two goals were scored by Janay Kinlock and Katherine Autry, with a shutout by goalie Ryan Wuester.

Lakewood is 1-0 in the conference and they travel to Trask next Tuesday. Game time is 5 p.m.
