The Raider girls of Midway Middle traveled to Wildcat Country Thursday and brought back a 17-2 win, their second of the young season.
Midway coach Sam Kitchin said he really liked the way his girls were starting off this year. “Our defense is incredible; they’re as good as any I have had,” the coach stressed.
The young Lady Raiders struck first and often, scoring 6 runs in the 1st inning, 4 in the 2nd, 3 in the 3rd, 2 in the 4th and 2 in the 5th and final inning.
Hobbton scored 1 run in the opening inning and their other in the 5th.
Savannah Lee was on the mound again for Midway, striking out 5.
Leading hitters for the Raiders were Hannah Jackson, 2-2 with a double a a home run; Hannah Lucas, a triple; Haley West, a triple and 3 runs.
Stats for Hobbton Middle were not called in.
Midway moves to 2-0 on the season and plays host to Roseboro-Salemburg Middle Monday.
