Billy Smith, 75

CLINTON — Mr. Billy Smith, 75, of 2594 Beulah Road, died Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Clinton with the Rev. Tim Ameen officiating. Interment will follow in Clinton Cemetery in Clinton.

Mr. Smith, born in Big Sandy, Tenn., was the son of the late James Edward Smith and Lois Waters Smith. He was a retired construction worker and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. A sister, Carol Key, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Daisy Underwood Smith; five daughters, Tammy Holland, Vickie Haney, Marie Avery, Betsy Tyner and DeeDee Underwood, all of Clinton; a son, Billy Smith of Clinton; four brothers, Philip Smith and Jim Smith, both of Clinton, Adrian Smith of White Lake and Harvey Smith of Nashville, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home in Clinton and other times at the home of his daughter, Tammy Holland, 1052 Red Hill Church Road, Clinton.
