The Midway Lady Raiders softball team fell to 0-3 Monday night following a 5-0 loss to the visiting Rosewood Lady Eagles.

Rosewood scored 3 runs in the 2nd inning and 2 more in the 5th en route to the shutout.

Midway was only able to muster 2 base hits in the contest. Sophomore Kelsey Pondo and freshman Kayla McLean provided all of the home team’s offense.

Lady Raider coach Leigh Ann Smith praised her defense as well as the pitching performance of senior Elizabeth McCullen. “Elizabeth made a difference for us tonight,” asserted the coach.

Midway was scheduled to host Wallace-Rose Hill on Tuesday, but the game was rescheduled to Wednesday due to Tuesday’s rainy conditions.
