Midway traveled to Gray’s Creek in Hope Mills on Monday and despite a strong showing, lost to the 3A team 4-0.
Heath Smith pitched 5 innings for the Raiders. He allowed 2 walks, 6 hits, and got 4 strikeouts. Four runs scored, 2 of which were earned.
Offensively for the Raiders, Taylor Calcutt went 1-3; Kyle Hawley, 2-3; and Matthew Barefoot, 1-3.
Midway traveled to Pender on Tuesday and will host James Kenan on Friday.
