NEWTON GROVE — Mr. James “Tommy” Odom Naylor, 78, of 12785 N. U.S. Hwy. 421, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at Sampson Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be held 4 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 6, at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 11341 N. U.S. 421 Hwy., Clinton, with the Rev. W. H. Calcutt officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Naylor, born in Sampson County, was the son of the late James Earthen Naylor and Bevie Odom Naylor, and was the husband of Willette McLamb Naylor. He was a farmer and the owner/operator of Naylor’s Produce Stand. Mr. Naylor was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Willette McLamb Naylor of the home; two sons, James Earl Naylor and wife, Ginger of Clinton and Tommie Lee Naylor and wife, Shirley Beth of Clinton; two sisters, Lillian Scott Godwin and husband, Harold of Dunn and Helen Herring and husband, Bob of Clinton; four grandchildren, Tim Naylor and wife, Ava, J. R. Naylor, Cashie Naylor, and Jase Naylor; and three great-grandchildren, Caleb Naylor, Aliyah Naylor, and Lee Naylor.
The family will receive friends 3-4 p.m., the hour prior to the service, on Thursday in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home of his son, James Earl Naylor, 2618 Bud Johnson Road, Clinton.
