STEDMAN — Mr. Roger Franklin Hairr, 71, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2012 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at Stedman Baptist Church with Dr. Phil Spears and bishop Donald Baldwin officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Ramsey St., Fayetteville.

Mr. Hairr was born March 15, 1941 in Sampson County, to the late Lattie and Betty Royal Hairr. He retired from Kelly-Springfield as a final finishing operator. He attended Stedman Baptist Church where he was a faithful member of the Senior Church Choir.

He is survived by his wife, Pearl Faircloth Hairr of the home; a son, Allen Hairr and wife, Janene of Stedman; grandson, Brandon Matthew Hairr and wife, Micaela of Stedman; sister, Gertrude Spell of Roseboro; brothers, Carl Hairr and wife, Becky and Omax Hairr and wife, Oliween all of Greensboro. Also surviving are his most precious pets, “Mollie” and Snuggles” of the home.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by five siblings, William Paul Hairr, Lattie Hairr Jr., Rupert Hairr, Elma Tyndall and Jean Stewart.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept 19, at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman.
