WILLARD — Mrs. Eula Newton Carr was born on Sept. 12, 1912 to Mary Highsmith Newton and John Newton. She was the third in a family of five. Eula departed this life on Monday, Oct. 8, 2012 in her home surrounded by family and friends.

Eula was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Webster Carr, daughter, Dorothy Mae Johnson; three brothers; and one sister.

She leaves to share cherished memories; one daughter, Barbara Graham (Marvin) of Willard; three sons, Daniel Carr Jr. of Willard, John T. Carr (Linda) of Wilmington, and Allopez Carr of Charlotte; as well as her adopted daughter, Juanita Carr of Clinton; 12 grandchildren, Lawanda Johnson, Daniel Carr III, Dennis Johnson Jr., Alesia Boney (Ronald), John Carr (Kristina), Tracy Marcel (Gene), Derrick Carr, Lamont Lowery (Lynn), Mildred Johnson, Sharita Mathis-Lawson, Nacosha Manuel, and Dr. Jewel Carr; 22 great grandchildren; four great-great-grand children; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Roseville Missionary Baptist Church in Willard, officiated by the Rev. Harvey Robinson and the Rev. David Jackson. Burial will follow in the Roseville Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 12, from 1 until 7 p.m. with the family being present from 6 until 7 p.m. at Summerville-Boykin Mortuary in Garland.
