ROSEBORO — Mr. William James Gore, 78, of 312 Maple St., died Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at Southwood Nursing and Retirement Center in Clinton.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 22, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home Chapel in Clinton with Mr. Randy Pope officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Roseboro Cemetery.

Mr. Gore, born in Horry County, S.C., was the son of the late Audie Leo Gore and Semmie Wright Gore Hatcher. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a cabinet maker for Edge Cabinets. Mr. Gore was co-owner/operator of Minnie’s Flash Market in Roseboro. A sister, Mary Lee Cartrette, preceded him in death.

He is survived by three daughters, Brenda Jackson and husband, Ronald of Clinton, Phyllis G. Bodenheimer of Thomasville, and Priscilla G. May and husband, Sam of Clayton; a brother, Ernest Edward Gore and wife, Candy of Wilmington; a sister, Shirley Jo Fisher and husband, Robert of Roseboro; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 21, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home in Clinton and other times at the home.

The family would like to express special thanks to Mr. John McLaurin for being such a kind roommate to Mr. Gore and also to Liberty Home Care and Hospice and Southwood Nursing and Retirement Center for the wonderful care Mr. Gore received.
