CLINTON — Mr. Edward C. Bass, 78, of 705 Stewart Ave., died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 30 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home, with the Rev. Alan Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.
Mr. Bass, born in Sampson County, was the son of the late Leonard Bass and Bettie Edwards Bass and the husband of Anita Eloise Smith Bass. He was self-employed as a carpenter and painter and was a member of First Baptist Church. Mr. Bass was predeceased by sisters, Agnes Bass Barefoot, Clarice Bass Carter and a brother, Albert Bass.
Mr. Bass is survived by his wife of 53 years, Anita Eloise Smith Bass; a daughter, Leisa Bass Williams of Stedman; two grandsons, Edward Colmon Williams of Stedman and Jeffery Tyler Williams of Oak Island; a brother, Lutrell Bass of Clinton; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home on Saturday, Dec. 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. and at other times at the home.
