ROSEBORO — Mrs. Mary Katherine Smith Autry, 84, of 785 Fleet Cooper Road, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013 in Sampson Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dudley Neil and the Rev. John Hobbs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Born in 1928 in Sampson County, Mrs. Autry was the daughter of the late Joe and Martha Cannady Smith. She was a nurse for D.M. Royal of Salemburg for 30 years. She continued using her nursing degree throughout her life. She was a widow of the late Jack Autry.

She is survived by her daughter, Martha Faye Jennings and husband, R.B. of Vero Beach, Fla., two sons, Jackie Wayne Autry and wife, Sharon of Wilmington and Donnie Mack Autry and wife, Dora of the home; and a brother, Earl Smith of Graham; and nine grandchildren: Joshua, Donnie Garrett, Donnie Lucas, Judy, Jennifer, Laura, Amy, Meg and Dee.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Beadie Mitchel.

The family will receive friends at 717 Fleet Cooper Road, Roseboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to North Carolina Alzheimer Association, 400 Oberlin Road., Raleigh, NC 27605.
