CLINTON — Sampson County 4-H will be hosting its large youth livestock roundup show this coming weekend. Hogs, beef/heifers and lambs will be on display as the 4-H pupils strive to show off their livestock knowledge.

The Sampson County Courthouse is getting a revamp in the form of a new roof that is expected to last for the next half century. Motorists and visitors to the Clinton courthouse have seen heavy machinery around the structure for the past week as the makeover, which received final approval last week, is ongoing.
In a tough and evenly matched soccer game on Monday, the Hobbton Wildcats came away with a 3-3 tie against Carolina 1A Conference foe Rosewood. After two OT periods that went scoreless, the game was concluded with the 3-3 tally.
The Clinton soccer team picked up another win on Monday afternoon, leaving St. Pauls with a 6-0 victory for another conference win. Walker Spell had two goals for the Dark Horses while Will Harris, Rece Thompson, Moises Mina, and Sebastian Beteta all had one goal apiece. Josue Villafranca contributed two assists and Caleb Kennedy, Daniel Adasiak, and Trent Sumner all had one assist. Clinton is now 7-2-1 overall and 2-0 in Southeastern Athletic Conference play. They will host Midway on Wednesday.
The Hobbton Wildcats travelled up to Wayne County on Friday night, hitting the road for another night of exciting football. Looking to continue their recent win streaks, the high-powered Wildcats offense was looking to conintue to shine. Instead, in a tough defensive game, Hobbton against Eastern Wayne, falling 18-13, against the Warriors.
