Caitlin Marie Blackmon and John McComb Forney were married at 1812 Hitching Post in Harmony, N. C. on Sunday the 25th of September. Pastor Patrick Waldron officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Susan Westbrook Blackmon of Salemburg and Robert Butler Blackmon of Clinton. The groom is the son of Katherine Neely Forney and Neal Mills Forney III, both of Charlotte. The couple lives in Elizabeth City as do the parents of the bride. Both are graduates of Appalachian State University in Boone.

The bride received a Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Arts Imaging and Technology and is the Graphic Artist/ Illustrator and Exhibit Designer at Museum of the Albemarle in Elizabeth City. The groom received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economic Anthropology and recently accepted a position with T. Parker Host in Norfolk, Va.

At one of the prettiest weddings at 1812 Hitching Post, the culmination of loveship and union of heart and hand took place beneath the giant oaks! The couple met extending back so far as five years and in that time true love hath sealed this marriage. The family and friends of the united came from near and far to attend the enchanted ceremony that afternoon to witness what everyone wished the life of the happy pair to be – “Ever-green”.
