The Just-A-Mere Garden Club met March 5 and heard Catherine Gilmore’s program on “Flea Market Gardening”.
Gilmore spoke about re-purposing items into interesting planters and yard art. With some creativity, recycled things can be incorporated into one’s yard and this adds interest to a flower bed or other space. In addition to her PowerPoint presentation, Gilmore displayed some of her own creations to accent a garden.
The fellowship hall of Roberts Grove Church was the meeting place with Dixie Honeycutt and Beverly Best serving as joint hostesses. Present for the meeting were 10 members.
In the devotion time, Rachel Edwards shared thoughts entitled “Spring Cleaning Our Minds”.
During the business session, a nominating report was heard and members are to pre-register if attending the annual meeting of the Garden Club of North Carolina, being held at Chapel Hill.
Betty Lee received a decorative lantern for winning the night’s hostess gift.
At the close of the meeting, the group enjoyed coconut cake, kabobs, crescent roll-ups and snack mix, along with a choice of soft drinks.
