The recipient of the 17th Annual Edith Bradshaw Scholarship is Manuel Montalvo Garcia.
A $1,500 scholarship was awarded to Garcia on Mother’s Day. A senior at North Duplin High School, he is captain of the varsity soccer team, an Eagle Scout, and was a Parks Scholarship finalist. Active in his church, St. Mary of the Angels in Mount Olive, Manuel is a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and will attend UNC Chapel Hill in the fall to major in education. He is the 18-year-old son of Felipe Montalvo and Veronica Garcia of Faison.
The Edith Bradshaw Scholarship was established in 2003 in memory of Michael Mozingo’s late mother Edith Bradshaw.
