Samantha Paige Meinsen and Andrew Michael Tilley were united in marriage on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Saint Thomas Preservation Hall in Wilmington. The bride’s father, Pastor William Meinsen officiated the ceremony with the assistance of Mr. Ronald Jones.
The bride is the daughter of Billy and Jennifer Meinsen of Roanoke Rapids. She is the granddaughter of the late Bob and Barbara Starks of Bristol, Tennessee and Larry and Eileen Meinsen of Springfield, Missouri. The bride is a graduate of Roanoke Rapids High School and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from East Carolina University. She is employed with Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
The groom is the son of Jay and Noreen Tilley of Clinton. He is the grandson of Frances Tilley and the late James Tilley of Fayetteville and the late Tony and Dot Cabral of Lumberton. The groom graduated from Clinton High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business of Administration and a Master of Science in Accounting from East Carolina University. He is currently employed with Large and Gilbert Accounting firm in Atlanta, Georgia.
The bride’s father escorted her down the aisle. She wore an Oleg Cassini strapless satin trumpet gown with beaded and lace appliques and chapel train. Her veil was a single tier cathedral length with lace and beaded edging. The bride’s bouquet was a mixture of yellow and white roses, lilies and calla lilies.
The maid of honor was her sister, Brittany Meinsen, of Elizabeth City. Bridal attendants were Carrie Brown of Atlanta, Ga., Roxanne Parnell, of Savannah, Ga., Brittany Estep of Raleigh, and sisters of the bride, Victoria Meinsen, and Peyton Meinsen, of Raleigh. Lensey Cabral, cousin of the groom, of Clinton served as Junior Bridesmaid. Flower girls were Harper Lassiter of Wilmington and Isabella Johnson of Roanoke Rapids.
The attendants wore strapless floor length navy dresses and carried bouquets of yellow and white flowers. The flower girls wore yellow dresses and carried white baskets of rose petals.
Jayme Tilley, brother of the groom, of Greenville, served as best man. Groomsmen were Connor Bean of Concord, Brendon Kennerly of Ellicott City, Md., Steven Lendino of Wilmington, Robert Walters of Greenville, and Tommy Wiggins of Fort Mills, S.C. Ushers were Justin Spell of Clinton, Josh Lassiter of Wilmington, John Thomas Cox of Greenville, and Adam Stephens of Lakeland, Fla.
DJ Ross Kimbro and vocalist Stephanie Empson provided wedding music. Program attendants were cousins of the groom, Katie and Emily Comer.
The reception was held at Saint Thomas Preservation Hall following the ceremony. Bella Florist provided flowers and a buffet dinner was catered by Middle of the Island of Wilmington
A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the parents of the groom, was held on Friday, July 10, on the Henrietta III Riverboat in Wilmington.
Following a honeymoon in Aruba, the couple will reside in Atlanta, Ga.
The friends of the groom’s parents hosted an engagement shower pig pickin’ on May 2.
Friends of the bride’s family hosted a bridal shower at New Life Church of Christ on May 30.
A bachelorette weekend was held in Savannah, Ga., hosted by friends of the bride on the weekend of March 17.
A bachelor weekend hosted by friends of the groom was also held in Savannah, Ga. the weekend of May 29.
The groom’s aunt, Susan Comer, hosted a bridesmaid luncheon in Oak Island on July 10.
The groom provided brunch for the groomsmen, ushers, fathers and grandfathers on July 11.
The groom’s aunts and uncles provided a hospitality room and lunch for the hotel guests.
