Do you feel blessed? Are we, God’s children, focused on ‘things of the earth’ with struggles and situations, not pleasing to our heavenly Father. strangling our joy? Do horrible headlines and newscasts fill our minds with fear and frustration? Are we sleeping less because our minds rehearse thoughts and troubles from difficult days? Our minds are always active and seeking a focus that makes the difference in how we live our lives here and where we will spend eternity!

So, how do we stay grounded in faith with the fruit of the Spirit flowing even in troubled times? A wonderful remedy comes from God’s Word!

“Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.” Colossians 3:2

In Romans 12, Paul shares strong lessons on struggles we deal with throughout life. His advice to keep our mind ‘set on things above’ can give peace and promise for a good life here and in Heaven when our work here is finished and He calls us Home! Do we have blessed assurance in our hearts and minds that Heaven will be our final destination? If not, ‘do not let the sun set without making things right with anyone you have aught against’… most of all Get Right with God and loved ones! Paul wrote of the importance of renewing our minds and being transformed from an earthly-centered life to a heavenly-centered life. Jesus taught this powerful lesson to people who followed Him and to those who gathered to hear the Master’s messages that changed lives and left lasting impressions of humility, honor, and Heaven.

Jesus encouraged His followers to “seek first the kingdom of God” and allow God to order our earthly concerns according to His will.” Matthew 6:33

Surely, the same message Jesus shared as He walked with His disciples down dusty roads and across rocky hills in Israel is meant for us today in America and across God’s creation. Let us take the challenge to keep our minds centered – one day at a time – on heavenly things.

Now, is the time for all God’s children to rise up in faith, realize the seriousness of this season when Satan seeks to silence Christians, revive our hearts making God our first love, renew our minds with the main focus on things above – not on things of the earth, refresh our humility with honor to Father, Son, Spirit!

Reach out and ask Jesus into your heart — He is waiting to give you a fresh new start! Spread love all around – though you once were lost, you now are found. Finally, reach out and take someone’s hand – let’s make this world a better place … with GOD — ‘‘Yes, we can.”
