A 38-year-old Dunn man was jailed under a $100,000 bond last week, charged in connection with making sexual comments to juvenile customers and workers at Hollerin’ Haunts, a Halloween venue in the northern part of Sampson County.
Sampson County Sheriff’s authorities took Perry Lance Lee, of 623 Timothy Road, Dunn, into custody on Oct. 14.
Those same investigators had sought the public’s help last week in obtaining more information or video footage of a suspect who had reportedly been causing a disturbance at the venue.
Lee now faces two counts of indecent liberties, one count of sexual battery and one count of simple assault.
The arrest came on the heels of an Oct. 4 incident at Hollerin’ Haunts, located on Bud Johnson Road, involving a 38-year-old who was reportedly intoxicated and making inappropriate statements to juveniles who were at the venue, Sheriff’s Capt. Marcus Smith noted.
Deputies were called to the scene to investigate.
Security at the business, Smith said, forcibly removed the suspect from the location and contacted law enforcement who, in turn, opened an investigation into the incident.
Last Wednesday, officers sought the public’s help in the investigation. A release asking for assistance noted, “it was discovered there could be more individuals who may have encountered or interacted with the suspect but have not come forward. Investigators are looking for any video footage that may be available that may assist in this investigation.”
Smith said it was important to note that the suspect was not an employee of the business and all staff/owners of the location have been actively involved in helping investigators.
At this time, he added, there is no further information available on the arrest or probe.
