Carla Robinson, 49, of 99 Dick St., Garland, was arrested Thursday and charged with multiple felonies connected to a string of robberies and breaking and entering incidents in Sampson and Cumberland counties over the past month.

Sampson County Sheriff’s Captain Marcus Smith shared that throughout December, multiple residents in and around Lakewood Country Club in Salemburg and several neighborhoods in Cumberland County had reported that a white woman, driving a red Nissan, was stealing packages and looking in mailboxes.

After going over Ring camera and surveillance videos, the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office identified Robinson as the suspect.

On Dec. 14, a breaking and entering and larceny was reported at 221 Fayetteville Hwy. in Dunn. Video showed that Robinson had taken multiple items, including tools and computers.

On Jan. 1, investigators were notified of a motor vehicle breaking and entering at 6116 Garland Hwy., Clinton, with the victim stating that more than $2,400 worth of property was stolen from vehicles, including a pair of Apple headphones that were later tracked to Robinson’s Garland residence.

On Jan. 2, deputies with the Uniform Patrol Division executed a search warrant at the residence, seizing Robinson’s vehicle. “A subsequent investigation into the vehicle revealed that in July of 2025, Carla Robinson purchased the vehicle from a local dealership using a stolen identity and registered the vehicle to her address at 99 Dick St., Garland,” Smith stated.

Robinson voluntarily surrendered to the Sampson County Magistrate’s Office on Thursday and was taken into custody. She was booked into the Sampson County Detention Center on two counts of felony identity theft, one count of felony breaking and entering of a motor vehicle with theft, one count of felony larceny after breaking and entering, one count of felony breaking and entering, and one count of felony possession of stolen goods from Sampson County, and two counts of misdemeanor larceny, and two counts of misdemeanor possession of stolen goods from Cumberland County.

Robinson is being held under no bond in the Sampson County Detention Center.
