Clinton police and fire responded to an agricultural spill Friday on Highway 24 and Bass Lake Road. Upon investigation, detectives discovered what appeared to be an animal byproduct on the roadway, Police Chief Adrian Mathews said.
The spill is under investigation, and Chief Mathews emphasized that the Clinton Police Department is dedicated “to holding individuals accountable for littering and unsafe practices on public roadways.”
“Ensuring animal waste and similar materials are transported safely and responsibility is equally vital,” he said. “Both accountability and safety play a critical role in protecting the well-being of our community and the surrounding environment.”
Information related to the ag spill should be reported to the CPD at 910-592-3105. Those who wish to remain anonymous can text 847411, beginning their message with “tipcpd.”
