A traffic stop on Parkersburg Road near N.C. 411 last Thursday night ended with one man in custody, charged with a laundry list of drug offenses.

Jaevion Vann, 25, of 220 Parkersburg Ave., Garland, was taken into custody and charged with a plethora of drug offenses, including multiple counts of felony possession of cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, sell of cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver methamphetamine, maintaining a dwelling for the sell of a controlled substance, trafficking in methamphetamine, trafficking in cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture, and sell and deliver cocaine.

According to Sampson County Sheriff’s Capt. Marcus Smith, investigators knew Vann had outstanding warrants against him, located him operating his vehicle in the area and conducted a traffic stop which led to Vann being taken into custody.

Smith noted that the outstanding warrants stem from “an ongoing investigation” into a drug complaint received by the Sheriff’s Department.

“After months of investigating Mr. Vann,” Smith said, “probable cause was established to obtain warrants related to the drug investigation.”

Vann was placed in the Sampson County Detention Center. His bond was not listed on arrest reports.
