The comedic dog stunt show seen on TV, Puppy Pals Live, is stopping in Clinton, hoping to crowd the Sampson County Agri-Exposition Center in just a few weeks.
The show is part of the center’s Sampson CenterStage Performing Arts Series. According to the Sampson CenterStage website, the series was created to “provide the citizens of Sampson and surrounding counties with the opportunity to attend live performing arts events of regional or national acclaim with performances that are not only entertaining; but that are diverse, and that offer wide appeal to a variety of audiences.”
Puppy Pals Live features adopted and rescued dogs perform spectacular stunts and breathtaking feats such jumping through hoops and other obstacles. The show was first started in 2018 by creator Wesley Williams as “The Puppy Pals Show.” However, Williams first began touring in 2015. In it’s first year, The Puppy Pals Show produced over 80 sold-out shows in the U.S..
In 2020, the show was featured on “America’s Got Talent” and eventually placed second in the show’s quarterfinals. The show brought national attention to the dog show, allowing it to take to the road full time playing at fairs, festivals, theaters and more. The show was also able to secure multiple performing contracts at places such as Stone Mountain Park, The Great Allentown Fair and more.
To keep up with the increasing demand, The Puppy Pals Show increased its size, adding new hosts, trainers and dogs. Additionally, the show also re-branded as Puppy Pals Live in 2024 and added additional shows including an educational show named “Anything is Paw-sible,” a dinosaur-themed stunt dog show, titled “Jurassic Bark Live,” and “Paws for the Planet,” a conservation driven stunt dog show made for wildlife enthusiasts.
