Rehearsals for 101 Dalmatians continues.

With but two weeks remaining before opening night at 8 p.m. on Thursday June 18, the two casts of “101 Dalmatians” will be rehearsing four evenings this week and for five evenings next week.

On Sunday, June 14, the casts will receive their costumes and will have three dress rehearsals before the Kanine Cuties take the stage for the initial performance and the Doggie Wonders will follow up on Friday, June 19, at 8 p.m.

With two casts each rehearsal time is automatically doubled because each song and dance must be gone over with each cast. The kids have been attentive and energetic with many not needing to hold their scripts while giving their lines.

There were a few youngsters added this past Sunday who will not have speaking parts but certainly can act like cuddly puppies. The director has not had anyone with a Dalmatian pet contact her so far and she really does need one or two for the shows ending. If you know of anyone who owns a real life Dalmatian ask them to call Dr. L.J. Carr at 336-1111.

Watch “101 Dalmatians” come to life on the big stage of the Sampson Community Theater sponsored by Prestage Farms and a Grassroots Grant and directed by Dr. L. J. Carr and performed by 2 casts of Sampson County young folks. Tickets will be available at Inkspot and Matthews Gifts.

On Wednesday, June 24, at 10 a.m., a special performance is planned for Summer Care Camps and pre-schools only (the public is not invited). Day Care facilities need to call the Director L.J. Carr at 336-1111 for details of this performance.

The Community Theater family was saddened to hear of former Board Member Jeff Warrens tragic loss of his young grandson in a drowning accident over this past weekend. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jeff and his family as they struggle to overcome this bitter event.

Thoughts until next week

The person who is denied the opportunity of making decisions of importance begins to regard as important the decisions they are allowed to make.

Seeing anyone do what they do best is beautiful.

With every deed you are sowing a seed, though the harvest you may not see.
