Cocaine trafficking arrest made


A routine traffic stop in Clinton yielded cocaine, marijuana and painkillers — and charges against two.

Nacarrias Tronta Jones, 33, of 100 Lisa Lane, Pikeville, was charged with two counts of trafficking in cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, simple possession of marijuana and simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance.

Sampson County Special Investigations Division made the stop for a seat belt violation, Lt. Marcus Smith said. The stop reportedly occurred at the 400 block of Southeast Boulevard.

“During the stop agents observed drug paraphernalia in plain view,” he said.

According to reports, a subsequent search resulted in the seizure of 58 grams of cocaine, half a gram of marijuana and two Tramadol Hydrochloride pills (painkillers).

His bond was set at $200,000 secured.

Also arrested during the incident was Jelisa Danyel Simmons, 25, of 207 Dogwood Circle, Clinton, who was was charged with simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, in connection with the painkillers. She received no bond.
