Last week, Jaime Weeks was named the new assistant principal at Midway Middle School.Weeks is already familiar with the school, having served as its instructional coach for the past two years.
A Sampson County native, the new AP said said she is excited about her new opportunity, one sparked during her years working at Campbell University.
“My journey into education began while working as the admissions coordinator for Campbell University’s School of Pharmacy,” Weeks said. “Although I originally earned a degree in business administration, I discovered how much I enjoyed working with prospective pharmacy students and helping them achieve their goals. That experience sparked a passion for supporting students and reinforced something that had always been in the back of my mind — a desire to teach.”
Weeks said she had always enjoyed learning, which ultimately led her to change careers and enter the field of education.
“I am now in my 25th year as an educator, and I continue to find joy in helping students grow, learn and reach their full potential,” she said.
Before joining Midway Middle School as instructional coach, Weeks served as the Sampson County Schools district instructional coach for middle grades. She previously worked as the MTSS coach at Roseboro-Salemburg Middle School, taught third through fifth grade English language arts at Plain View Elementary, third grade at Harnett Primary School and ninth-grade English at Hobbton High School.
As she prepares to begin her new role, Weeks said she is looking forward to the upcoming school year.
“I am incredibly honored to serve alongside the amazing staff and students at Midway Middle School as we continue building on the great work of transforming our school into the best it can be.”
