A Sampson County K-9 is being credited for the quick apprehension of an armed robbery suspect Tuesday morning in Ingold.
Few details were available at press time, but the Independent did learn that Sampson County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the Ingold Dollar General around 10 a.m. Tuesday to investigate an armed robbery.
Chief Deputy Marcus Smith said within “a few minutes” of the call, deputy K9 Rocky located the suspect and officers were able to take him into custody.
The name of the suspect has not yet been released.
“This is an ongoing investigation and more details will be released as they become available,” the chief deputy said.
