Job seekers from across Sampson County are being invited to come out to the second annual Sampson County Job Fair Saturday.

Sponsored by the Clinton-Sampson Chamber of Commerce, NC Workforce Career Center, Sampson County Exposition Center, Sampson County Economic Development Commission and Triangle-South Workforce Development Board, this event will provide those seeking employment or those wishing to make a career change with access to employers that are seeking motivated and talented candidates in every discipline, from hospitality and healthcare to finance, education, agri-business, trucking, paramedics manufacturing, agriculture, facility maintenance and everything in between.

According to event planners, the fair will be held from 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Sampson County Exposition Center on Warsaw Road.

“In addition to bringing in top employers from throughout Sampson County, we are providing resources for job seekers to assist them in their search for employment or career change,” Sandra Webster, director for NC Works Career Center, said.

Webster said the NC Works Mobile Unit, the state’s official career center on wheels, will be on site Saturday to assist people in finding a job. The NC Works Mobile Unit provides help during job fairs and other special events to allow job seekers to gain access to career counseling, resume preparation, free internet access and assistance using the NC Works website, where individuals can apply online for jobs and search for available jobs.

Approximately 20 local employers and employment resource organizations will be participating in the event, with more than 30 positions needing to be filled. No registration is required those seeking jobs.

Participating businesses and industries include Clinton City Schools, Clinton Police Department, DuBose National Energy Services Inc., Enviva, Ezzell Trucking Inc., MHC Kenworth Clinton, NC Works Career Center, Sampson Bladen Oil Company, Sampson County EMS, Sampson County Health Department, Sampson County Sheriff’s Department, Sampson Regional Medical Center, Sampson County Department of Social Services, Southwood Nursing & Rehab, Schindler Elevator Corporation, Smithfield, Telamon, Temporary Connections and Triangle South Workforce Development Board.

According to Ray Jordan, executive director of the Sampson County Exposition Center, the theme of the event is “Cultivate Your Career” and the objective of the event is to bring potential employees and employers together and to inform the community of the career opportunities available throughout Sampson County.
