Local law enforcement charged two men with numerous felonies in connection with a robbery and kidnapping incident out of Wake County, Sampson County Sheriff’s authorities said.

The two men were taken into custody and charged Wednesday.

James Thomas Wade, 35, of 46 Rory Drive, Snow Hill, was charged with four counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, three counts of conspiring to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of second degree kidnapping. He also received a failure to appear charge on a count of driving while license revoked.

Eric Lamont Wade, 38, of 86 Meadow Drive, Snow Hill, was similarly charged with four counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, three counts of conspiring to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of kidnapping.

Bond for the Wade duo was set at $1 million apiece. Sheriff’s Lt. Marcus Smith said the men turned themselves in at the Sampson County Law Enforcement Center on Fontana Street.

“The subjects turned themselves in at the magistrate office to have outstanding warrants from Wake County served on them,” Smith noted.

Details of the incident from which the charges stemmed were not available by press time.
