Deputies from the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office assisted Cumberland County law enforcement by arresting two suspects on robbery charges, including a Clinton man.
Daniel S. Scott, 30, of 137 Boney Mill Road, Clinton and Jesse D. Furmidge of 968 Wade Stedman Road, Stedman, are facing several charges involving robbery. The charges included felony robbery with a dangerous weapon; burglary; larceny of a dog; conspire to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon; and misdemeanor assault and battery.
“Sampson County Special Investigations Division received information that the subjects were entered wanted by Cumberland County Sheriffs Office and living in Turkey on Curly Lane,” Lt. Marcus Smith said. “Agents went to the residence and located the suspects and made the arrest for Cumberland County.”
Following the arrest, Scott and Furmidge were sent to the Sampson County Detention Center. The bonds for Furmidge and Scott were set at $250,000 and the trial date is July 28.
