You will be able to see “Honk! Jr.” this weekend at the Sampson Community Theater as this colorful show based on the fairy tale of “The Ugly Duckling” by Hans Christian Andersen is presented for the last times at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 29, Friday, June 30, and Saturday, July 1, with a matinee at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 2.

A special performance for summer day cares and preschools will be on Friday at 9:30 a.m. Please call the Director Linda Carr at 910-336-1111 for more information and to reserve your group.

The cast consists of 35 local youngsters who range in age from 4 to 17. Some are ducklings, some are ducks, others are turkeys, some are frogs but the one factor they all have is enthusiasm with the result that you and all members of your family will have a great time attending this show. At intermission a cast member, Jane Usher, keeps the audience entertained playing well known tunes on her violin. She has been taking lessons for 6 or so years and is pretty good.

Tickets are available now at Matthews Gifts and at Inkspot. Star Communications is sponsoring this production and we thank them for giving back to the community that supports them.

Thoughts until next week:

When I dance I feel free!

When I feel free I dance!

Today is a gift. Unwrap and enjoy it.

Work like you don’t need the money

Love like you’ve never been hurt

Dance like nobody’s watching

Sing like nobody’s listening

Live like it’s heaven on Earth
