Harrells grad Lanier elected as state FFA vice president

Amos Lanier of Burgaw was elected vice president of North Carolina’s Future Farmers of America at the 89th State FFA Convention, held on June 22. Lanier will serve a one-year term of service.

Over the coming year, he will serve as an ambassador for youth, agriculture and education. He will travel over 100 days visiting FFA chapters, meeting with agribusiness leaders and representing the North Carolina FFA Association in various state and national meetings.

Amos is the son of Buron and Sara Lanier. He is a 2017 graduate of Harrells Christian Academy, where Reva Weathington was his agricultural education/FFA instructor. He is a student at North Carolina State University majoring in animal science.

The North Carolina FFA Association has 19,301 members in 282 FFA chapters. The FFA student organization is an integral part of the agricultural education program. Agricultural education and FFA make a difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premiere leadership, personal growth and career success.
