One Cumberland County shooting suspect is in custody and another remains at large following an incident that started in Sampson’s neighbor to the west and continues in locally, with authorities still on the search for one of two individuals.
With the incident still ongoing, details were sketchy, but confirmed reports from Sampson law enforcement authorities show that shots were fired in an unknown Cumberland County location earlier this evening, and deputies from there chased the suspects into Sampson.
Authorities said the two suspects jumped and ran from their vehicle in the Hayne area of Sampson.
One suspect was taken into custody; the second remains at large.
