Star Communications sponsored three local students to attend the Cooperative Leadership Camp, hosted by the Cooperative Council of North Carolina.

Students who attended the camp were Wesley Cowand, Ty Randleman and Kaleb Jessup.

Cowand is a sophomore at Clinton High School and is an accomplished and involved students. He participates in multiple school and community activities, including SGA, Science Club, Fellowship of Christian Students, BSA Troop 80 Life Scout, and Key Club. Cowand’s interests include computer programming, videography, tennis, swimming and acting. After graduating from high school, he plans to attend college and pursue a career in engineering or computer science.

Randleman is a sophomore at Clinton High School and participates in multiple clubs, including Beta Club, Deca Club and Key Club. He is on the cross country team and golf team. In addition to volunteering at the Sampson History Museum and Salemburg Food Bank, he works as a salesperson at James Trading Company. His interests include swimming, hunting, fishing, music, basketball, science and law. After graduating from high school, he wants to attend college and pursue a career in corporate law.

Jessup is a junior at Harrells Christian Academy. He is active in school sponsored activities including Beta Club and Fellowship of Christian Students. He is a student ambassador and a Science Olympiad. His interests including hunting, fishing, camping, weightlifting, drawing and soccer. He recently became and Eagle Scout. After high school, he wants to attend college and pursue a career in engineering.
