A suspicious vehicle parked on Royal Lane led to drug charges against a Newton Grove teen, who was found in possession of marijuana, digital scales, 70 baggies, a firearm and liquor, according to Clinton Police Department reports.

Bobby Graham Lee, 18, of 2750 Eldridge Road, Newton Grove, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a malt beverage under 21 years old.

He received $2,000 secured bond for the offenses.

On Friday, at about 7:45 p.m., Officer Mark Horne was on patrol when he noticed a suspicious vehicle, a Volkwagen Rabbit, which was reportedly parked near the dead end of Royal Lane. Horne investigated the matter and subsequently found drug paraphernalia and other items.

Reports state that 11.7 grams of marijuana was seized along with 70 baggies, a digital scale, a 9mm handgun, 9mm ammunition, as well as a metal pipe, grinder and filters.

Lee was charged in connection with the seizure. A 15-year-old male was also with Lee, reports noted.

Clinton Police Chief Donald Edwards said he did not expect any other arrests in the case.

“There was no indication the 15-year-old was involved in any illegal activities,” the chief said. “I don’t expect any additional charges.”
