In one short week at the Sampson Community Thearter, “Seussical” will open on Friday, Aug. 18, at 7:30 p.m. for the first of 12 performances.

Not only is this show appropriate for the whole family to see but judging by the casts, it is also appropriate for family members to be actors. Some of the families represented are Chuck Moore and his daughter Abigail, Robert New and his daughter Carrie, Phyliss Brown and her children Danielle, Krais, Alexandra and Andrew, Rodney Hall and his daughter E’Vanna, Kim Lackey and daughters Madison, Amber and Kaylee, Annabeth Clark and sister Mia, Becky Ruggles and son Ayden, Tracy Jackson and son Lucas, Angie McLamb and granddaughter Madelyn, Schuyler Floyd and brother Chris.

In other words a nice mixture of siblings, sons, daughters, granddaughters, fathers, mothers and grandmothers. We expect this show to be a blockbuster and you are advised to get your tickets early at Inkspot or Matthew’s Gifts.

Performance Dodge/Ford are the proud sponsors of “Seussical” and we thank them for helping to keep the arts alive in our county.

Thoughts until next week:

The most precious things in life cannot be built by hand or bought by man.

The reason women don’t play football is because 11 of them would never wear the same outfit in public.

We spend the first twelve months of our children’s lives teaching them to walk and talk and the next twelve years telling them to sit down and shut up.
