A Clinton man has been arrested on drug charges after a search warrant executed at his residence over the weekend yielded the presence of meth, marijuana and various drug paraphernalia, according to reports released on Monday.
Matthew Denton Pope, 25, of 409 Walking Stick Trail, Clinton, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to manufacture precursor to meth, simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
He was arrested at the Walking Stick Trail residence on Saturday. Reports show a small amount of meth was seized.
Police reports indicated that the warrants were issued the same day. Pope has no prior criminal record in North Carolina, according to the N.C. Department of Public Safety database.
His bond set at $35,000 secured for the charges.
