A Raleigh man stands charged with a slew of felonies following a traffic stop on Interstate 40 Wednesday that netted 10 pounds of marijuana, authorities said.

Deputies with the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office conducted the stop on I-40 Wednesday afternoon. The stop was made in the eastbound lane, near N.C. 403, reportedly for a traffic violation. During the stop, deputies conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle, which yielded 10 pounds of marijuana, according to reports from sheriff’s officials.

Kenneth Eduardo Bale Gamboa, 23, of Raleigh, was charged with trafficking marijuana by possession, trafficking marijuana by transport, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony maintaining a vehicle for the storage of a controlled substance, and possession of paraphernalia.

He was placed under a $10,000 secured bond.
