Thanks to the sponsorship by Warwick, Bradshaw & Lockamy, P.A., Attorneys at Law, the Sampson Comunity Theater will be presenting the mature comedy from the pen of Neil Simon entitled “The Female Odd Couple” or “The Odd Couple, Female Version” on Friday, Oct. 20 at 7:30 p.m. for the first of six performances.
Tom Wilbur is very pleased with the cast he has assembled as shown by the number and variety of snapshots he has sent to local newspapers. The cast is remarkable as there is only one newcomer to our stage and he is not a female. All the females in the cast are veterans and are ready to tickle your funny bone while the males have Kirk Hudson and Roger Gonzales in romantic moods.
Kirk had been in numerous shows at SCT while Roger has no stage experience and says he was induced to take a role at the insistence of his boss, who just happens to be Kirk, but says he is really enjoying the camaraderie of the cast. Tickets are available at Matthew’s Gifts, at Inkspot, and at the box office when it is open.
Angela Martin announced that auditions for “Elf, Jr.” would be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14. Angela will be directing this Christmas show which will be performed the first two weekends of December.

Thoughts until next week:
If the only prayer you said in your whole life was ‘thank you,’ that should suffice.
Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.
There are two great pains in life … the pain of getting what you want and the pain of not getting what you want.
Dr. Bruce Caldwell is on the board of directors for Sampson Community Theatre.
