It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas everywhere you go in our county. People who are usually solemn faced have a smile and may even venture to wish you a “Merry Christmas”.
Television and radio are filled with commercials for gifts to give family and friends. Those who attended an “Elf Jr.” performance got an early start on getting their spirit of Christmas which will last well into next year. Even the Sampson Community Theater cannot produce a drama like that which occurred over 2,000 years ago when the baby Jesus was born in the manger of a barn in Bethlehem. Let us be mindful of the reason for the season and rejoice for the event. We do not wish you a “happy holiday” but a heartfelt Merry Christmas!
Dr. L. J. Carr has finished auditions for “The Beauty and the Beast”. She was fortunate to have enough talent to end up with two casts named Baguettes and Berets and Enchanted Rose. Isabelle Moore and Madison Cain are cast as “Belle” while Judah Herod and Jonathan Daniels play the “Beast”. Each cast will be responsible for four shows. Kathy Day has been cast in the Thalian Association’s production of Oliver which will be performed in Feb. 9-18 in Wilmington. Way to go Kathy!
Patron tickets give two people admissions to every show we produce in 2018 with a reduced rate. A patron ticket would make a desirable Christmas gift for those who love the theater so call Brenda Martin to make arrangements to surprise that special someone or couple with a Patron Ticket this Christmas and they will thank you for a whole year.
